Prof Dr Asad Zaman (Former Vice Chancellor PIDE)
Prof. Dr. Asad Zaman is an elite Pakistani economist and scholar globally recognized for his work in Islamic economics and his critique of mainstream Western economic models. A highly distinguished academic, he holds a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.S. in Statistics from Stanford University, alongside a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT. Throughout his career, he has taught at prestigious international universities—including Columbia, Penn, and Johns Hopkins—and has held top-tier national roles as the Vice-Chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) and a Monetary Policy Committee member for the State Bank of Pakistan.
