Pakistan: The sole barrier between India’s de facto militry control over Kashmir to de jure
The IPS Insight argues that while India maintains de facto control over Indian-occupied Kashmir through military dominance, Pakistan remains the principal barrier to itsde jure legitimization of that control. It contends that Pakistan’s improved counterterrorism credentials, strategic credibility, and diplomatic positioning have created a limited opportunity to revive the Kashmir issue through sustained diplomacy and evidence-based international engagement.
