Misleading Maps of Pakistan: Realities and Impacts

A session titled ‘Misleading Maps of Pakistan: Realities and Impacts’ was held at IPS on July 16, 2019 with a view to raise awareness over this issue. The objective of the session was to develop a deeper understanding over the incorrect maps of Pakistan widespread over internet and other platforms which portray Pakistan without the regions of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The session predominantly discussed the legal aspects related to maps under the scope of international law, the procedures and protocols involved in the preparation, dissemination, and distribution of official maps of countries, especially Pakistan and India, the psychological impacts of incorrect/misleading maps, and the policy options for Pakistan to prevent the dissemination of misleading maps at the national and international level.

    Whatever is the fate of Kashmir if the United Nations plebiscite is held the people of GB will never join Kashmir. They will take up arms to repel any aggression and stay with Pakistan.
