IPS partakes in an online meeting on ‘Integration of Variable Distributed RES’

On
the invitation of Pakistan German Renewable Energy Forum (PGREF), IPS
participated in an online meeting on ‘Integration of Variable Distributed RES
(Renewable Energy Sources)’ on May 25, 2021.

The
meeting was held as part of a special working group initiated earlier by GIZ –
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, with the support of
German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Pakistan Ministry of
Energy.

It
merits a mention here that IPS was a sole think tank from Pakistan invited to
participate in the meeting that was otherwise attended by the officials and
representatives of Ministry of Energy, NEPRA (National Electric Power
Regulatory Authority), NTDC (National Transmission and Dispatch Company), AEDB
(Alternative Energy Development Board), LESCO (Lahore Electric Supply Company),
FESCO (Faisalabad Electric Supply Company), IESCO (Islamabad Electric Supply
Company) and many other notable international and national organizations of the
country’s power sector.

On
behalf of the Institute, the meeting was attended by the its GM Operations
Naufil Shahrukh and research faculty members Mohammad Wali Farooqi and Hamza
Naeem.
