About the Book

India has remained an important and consistently debated subject in Pakistan. Yet, whether during periods of regional peace or times of heightened tension, a lack of serious understanding and informed analysis of India has long been felt within Pakistan’s academic, intellectual, and political circles. It is in this context that the Institute of Policy Studies initiated a project to compile and publish nearly one thousand columns written by journalist and analyst Iftikhar Gilani, organizing them into various thematic volumes. The first book in this series, “Ikisveen Sadi ka Bharat aur Musalman: Siyasat aur Samaj ke Aaine Mein,” was published in 2024. The present volume is another significant contribution to this intellectual endeavor. The book is divided into six sections covering key themes such as the Pakistan-India dialogue process, Pakistan-India relations, developments in regional politics, and issues and trends in India’s national politics. This work will serve as a valuable and authoritative resource for scholars, policymakers, researchers, and serious readers interested in political science, social sciences, public policy, and international relations. The book will not only enrich research and intellectual discourse but will also contribute to the development of fresh perspectives and more effective policies in these fields.
