Raabta delegation visits IPS

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad, hosted a roundtable session with a delegation of scholars from the Raabta program of the Research Academy for Higher Education and Technology (Darul Ilm-wal-Tehqeeq), Karachi, on September 15, 2026.

The delegation, led by Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rahman, comprised teachers and scholars who have pursued research degrees following their traditional madrassa education. The session was chaired by Chairman IPS Khalid Rahman and facilitated by Syed Nadeem Farhat, research fellow, IPS. The forum was organized under the IPS program ‘Promoting Indigenous Policy Research Initiative’ to brainstorm research ideas for young and mid-career scholars. The initiative aims to make academic research more productive and relevant to the policy process.

The discussion focused on national and regional dynamics, offering a platform for meaningful exchange on policy, research, and contemporary issues. Earlier, the participants were introduced to IPS’ vision, research focus, initiatives, and prominent research activities. The session also highlighted IPS programs aimed at collaborating with educational institutes and universities and assisting young scholars in their research across numerous policy-oriented areas.

At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Aziz-ur-Rahman thanked IPS for its warm hospitality and for facilitating an engaging, intellectually enriching experience through insightful discussion and exchange of ideas.
