Anum Akhlaq

Anum Akhlaq is a communications and editorial professional with over four years of experience spanning strategic advocacy, media relations, research editing, and digital content development. She currently serves as Advocacy and Communication Officer for the Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme, deployed via a third party for UNICEF, where she leads advocacy strategy, media engagement, and crisis communications in coordination with national and provincial stakeholders.

Prior to this, she spent over four years at the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad, progressing from Editorial Assistant to Deputy Manager Outreach & Content Editor. Her tenure there encompassed content planning and digital channel management, editorial contribution to the flagship journal Policy Perspectives, event communications, stakeholder coordination, and visual asset development.

Anum holds an MS in Media Studies (Riphah International University, fully funded scholarship) and an MSc in Defense and Strategic Studies (Quaid-i-Azam University), alongside a Reuters Digital Journalism certification. Her editorial portfolio includes structural and developmental editing for multiple published books, research papers, and a peer-reviewed article in Policy Perspectives on hybrid governance in Pakistan’s National Security Committee.
