Dr. Mohammad Rizwan-ul-Hassan

Dr. Mohammad Rizwan-ul-Hassan is an economist and academic with over two decades of experience in higher education, applied economic research, and institutional leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Karachi (2014), where his doctoral research examined the development trajectory of SAARC economies and prospects for regional economic union, and an M.A. in Economics from the same institution (1999).

He served as Assistant Professor at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (2011–2022), teaching courses in Public Finance, International Trade, Micro- and Macroeconomics, and Econometrics, while holding leadership roles including Head of the Department of Economics, Research Head, and Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee. He has also served as Visiting Faculty at Bahria University, NED University, and the University of Karachi, and previously taught at the College of Banking & Finance, Jauhar Degree College, and Karachi College of Business Administration. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade in the private sector with the multinational pharmaceutical firm Sandoz Pakistan Limited.

Dr. Rizwan-ul-Hassan has a well-established research profile in applied economics, with peer-reviewed publications on regional economic integration, exchange rate dynamics, financial sector development, and the relationship between political stability and economic growth, alongside numerous presentations at national and international conferences including the AERC International Research Conference.
