Mairaj ul Hamid, Political Science, Geopolitics
Mairaj ul Hamid Nasri is a seasoned academic and researcher specializing in Political Science, with a particular focus on regional geopolitics, foreign policy, and conflict dynamics in South and Central Asia. He currently serves as Lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Malakand (UoM), Pakistan, where he has also held additional responsibilities, including serving as the university’s Public Relations Officer (Spokesperson).
Mr. Nasri holds an MPhil in American Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He previously served as Research Coordinator at the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad, where he organized and contributed to a number of national and international conferences, including those focusing on the Afghanistan conflict, U.S. foreign policy in the region, and Pakistan’s geopolitical challenges.
He is currently a Non-Resident Fellow at the Research Center for Asian Studies (RCAS), Hong Kong, and has taught as a visiting faculty member at the School of Economics, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
An accomplished researcher and public intellectual, Mr. Nasri has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and over 50 articles in national and international newspapers and magazines, as well as multiple national and international conference papers
He is frequently invited to share his expert opinion on geopolitical developments, particularly concerning Afghanistan, Pakistan’s foreign policy, and the War on Terror, with both national and international media outlets.
In recognition of his academic contributions, he was awarded the Best Researcher of the Year (2022) by the University of Malakand. He is also a member of the Pakistan Federal Union of Columnists (PFUC). His analytical and academic expertise continues to contribute to the policy discourse on regional peace, strategic affairs, and international diplomacy.
