About the Book
This incisive book offers a comprehensive exploration of the Palestine-Israel conflict, tracing its origins to the establishment of Israel in 1948 and the resulting displacement of more than 700,000 Palestinians. Through a rigorous historical lens, the work examines the evolution of the Arab-Israel conflict, with particular focus on the rise of Fatah and Hamas and their enduring campaign for the Palestinian “right of return” from 1948 to 2022. The narrative unfolds across successive waves of Intifadas (1987–2022), culminating in the pivotal events of October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, and Israel responded with a brutal onslaught in Gaza. These developments are analyzed with depth and nuance, revealing how Israel’s plans were offset by a strategic setback marked by a dramatic shift in global public opinion in favor of the Palestinian cause. This shift was strongly reaffirmed when several UN member states, including prominent Western powers, formally recognized the State of Palestine. The book also briefly draws parallels between the Palestine-Israel conflict and the Kashmir crisis, highlighting shared patterns of regional instability through concise analysis and comparative insights. Finally, it presents a robust assessment of potential pathways toward resolving the Palestinian question. Overall, this scholarly contribution offers a solid strategic foundation for researchers, policymakers, and peace advocates seeking to navigate and address one of the world’s most enduring and complex regional crises.
