The Crisis in Sudan: Implications for the Country and the Region

The Sudanese military commanded by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary force known as Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo are locked in a power struggle which turned violent on April 15, 2023. Foreign intervention in Sudan’s internal affairs has played a vital role in further exacerbating this issue. Any escalation of this conflict might result in destabilization of the region and can pose a risk for the neighboring countries.
