Ambassador (r) Tajammul Altaf

Ambassador (r) Tajammul Altaf is a senior research associate at IPS. Having joined Foreign Services in 1982, he has served Pakistan as a diplomat in several countries. His last assignment in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was as its additional foreign secretary. He has held several eminent positions in the past including director general for Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), director at the Foreign Services Academy, director at the Ministry for Europe, Afghanistan, South East Asia and Pacific, Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Central Asian Republics, as well as for National Assembly of Pakistan and Senate Affairs.

Additionally, the former diplomat is also a regular guest speaker at the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), Faculty of International Relations, University of Economics, Prague, the Oriental Department at the Charles University, Prague, Anglo-American University, Prague, Masaryk University, Brno, Faculty of Textile Engineering, Technical University of Liberec (TUL), Rotary Club, Prague, and the Diplomatic Academy in Prague. He also occasionally delivers lectures at the Istanbul Aydin University in Turkey.
