Syed Abdullah Anwar, Lawyer
Syed Abdullah Anwar is a legal professional specializing in maritime law, arbitration, and legislative consultancy. He holds an LL.M. in Maritime Law from Bahria University, Islamabad, and is an Accredited Arbitrator with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).
Currently, he serves as a Lawyer Associate in the China Department at TAHOTA Law Firm, where he provides legal consultancy to the Chinese Embassy and Chinese enterprises operating in Pakistan. His responsibilities include conducting in-depth legal research, offering cross-border legal guidance, and supporting bilateral legal cooperation.
Abdullah is also a Senior Research Fellow at MANTAQ, where he contributes to national policy by drafting proposals and offering legal opinions on legislative bills presented in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
He heads the Maritime Law and Policy Department. His published work navigates critical themes such as socio-economic and security challenges in maritime domains, shipping regulations, and trade facilitation.
Abdullah is also the co-author of Pakistan’s pioneering book on maritime law, “The Manual of Maritime Laws,” marking a significant contribution to the legal and academic landscape of maritime legislation in the country.
