Maghrib aur Islam is a quarterly Urdu journal that includes translations of articles and essays by Western authors concerning Islam and Muslims. The journal is a valuable resource for understanding American and European perceptions of the world of Islam, and for building the basis of constructive dialogue aimed at preempting a “clash of civilizations.” Launched in April 1997, the journal is read by Urdu readers in Pakistan and many other parts of the world, and has recently undertaken the task of documentation of subtopics of the subject.

The journal acknowledges the services of scholars who are constantly engaged in adapting material from original sources to be included in the journal as content.
