Prof Dr Mustafeez Ahmad Alvi, Specialist in Islamic Socio Political Thought & Comparative Philosophy
Dr Mustafeez Ahmad Alvi is a distinguished scholar of Islamic socio-political thought, comparative religion, and modern/postmodern philosophy. He earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies (2003) from the University of the Punjab and holds master’s degrees in English Language & Literature, Islamic Studies, and Arabic Language & Literature.
For over 30 years, Dr Alvi has served in academia at institutions including the University of the Punjab, AIOU, IIUI, Riphah International University, and GIFT University. He joined NUML in 2012, progressing to Professor and eventually serving as Dean of Social Sciences (2016–2022).
He has taught courses in research methodology, philosophy, comparative religion, and related disciplines across curricula at BS, MS, and PhD levels. His 45+ research publications, including seven books, and the supervision of 30+ PhD and 90+ MPhil theses underscore his commitment to scholarship.
Dr. Alvi has been an active contributor to national educational development: he served 15 years on HEC research quality committees and has participated in curriculum development at ten prominent universities. His memberships include international forums such as the American Academy of Religion and Globethics, and he frequently engages in interfaith and ethical dialogues.
Well known for media outreach, Dr Alvi has appeared on PTV, PTV-International, GTV, and radio. He maintains an active online presence and provides academic leadership through public engagement.
