Dr Lutfur Rahman, Regional Security Expert
Dr Lutfur Rahman is a regional security expert with extensive experience in media, research, and policy analysis. With a professional career spanning over three decades at Radio Pakistan, he retired in 2019 as Controller News to fully dedicate himself to academic and research pursuits.
He previously served as a Research Officer for the Pakhtunkhwa Arts and Culture Project, contributing to the documentation and promotion of regional heritage. His academic work is centered on Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, with particular focus on the Durand Line, constitutional issues, and security dynamics in the region.
Dr Rahman has authored over 10 research publications and is currently working on a new book exploring the historical and political landscape of Dir. His research interests span a broad spectrum, including terrorism, international law, Middle Eastern affairs, and the geopolitical landscape of South Asia and the Asia-Pacific region.
He has delivered lectures and talks at prestigious institutions such as IPRI, IPS, National Defence University (NDU), University of Peshawar, University of Malakand, Bahria University, Khattak University, and various law colleges, where he speaks on regional security, international relations, and constitutional frameworks.
