Addressing the Trade Imbalances

Policy Perspectives, Volume 9 , Special issue on “China and SAARC” 2012

Abstract

[Economic relations, particularly trade, between China and South Asia has been growing steadily. It, however, is characterized by heavy trade deficits for the South Asian countries. China has some concessional arrangements for Least Developed Countries of the region but in order to develop a lasting economic partnership, preferential market access for exports of remaining countries of the SAARC should also be considered.  – Eds.]
