Exposure Visit of Al-Khidmat Foundation Interns at the Institute of Policy Studies

Youth are the architects of Pakistan’s future, and when guided by purpose, national values, and a clear vision, they can become a powerful force for meaningful change. With sincerity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to ethical principles, the young generation of Pakistan can lead the way in building a more just, progressive, and resilient Pakistan.

This message was conveyed by Khalid Rahman, chairman, the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), while addressing a group of interns from Alkhidmat Foundation, Islamabad, during their exposure visit to IPS on July 16, 2025. The visit aimed to foster youth engagement in policy dialogue, research, and national development. The interns delegation was led by Munazza Siddiqui, director, Volunteer Management Department, Alkhidmat Foundation, and was also joined by Muhammad Farooq, vice president, Alkhidmat Foundation.

The visit featured an interactive and thought-provoking session led by Khalid Rahman, Chairman of IPS, who shared key insights on Pakistan’s policy landscape, the role of youth in nation-building, and the importance of values-driven leadership.

Khalid Rahman emphasized the critical role that young people can and must play in shaping the future of Pakistan. He encouraged the interns to approach public service and social development with sincerity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to ethical principles. The session also included an open dialogue, allowing interns to ask questions, share their perspectives, and engage directly with IPS leadership.

During the visit, the interns were also introduced to IPS’s ongoing research initiatives, publications, and institutional partnerships. The exposure helped them understand how think tanks like IPS contribute to informed policy-making and intellectual discourse.

This visit reflects IPS’s continued commitment to mentoring youth, promoting civic responsibility, and building bridges between academic knowledge and societal impact. The institute regularly engages with students, researchers, and young professionals as part of its outreach and capacity-building initiatives.

The interns expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and the meaningful interactive session, noting that the experience provided them with a broader understanding of policy research and the potential for youth-led change.
